A Repair Technician’s Guide to the ACI 562 Repair Code
Length: 30 Minutes

The ACI 562-16 Repair Code is primarily intended for the Licensed Design Professional for providing the requirements necessary for assessing and designing repairs and rehabilitation of existing concrete structures. The ICRI Concrete Surface Repair Technician (CSRT) Certification Program provides training and certification for the technician inspecting and implementing repairs.

The presentation was recorded on Fri, Nov 11, 2016 during a Special Technical Session on the ACI 562 Repair Code and Joint ACI/ICRI Guide to the Repair Code.

The CSRT Program states that the Certified Concrete Surface Repair Technician will:

  • Be aware of the causes and problems associated with reinforced concrete deterioration and embedded metal corrosion;
  • Be introduced to types of concrete deterioration including: embedded metal corrosion, freeze-thaw, erosion/abrasion, and disintegration;
  • Understand the requirements for a quality repair;
  • Be aware of the various repair methods and materials; and
  • Be qualified to perform pre-placement and post-placement inspections and testing.

This video will identify and outline repair code requirements that the repair technician should be aware of for each of the above bullet points covered in the ICRI CSRT certification program.
