Guide Design Example: Precast/Prestressed Double-Tee Repair

This video will illustrate an example of how various sections of ACI 562 are applied in the execution of a Precast/Prestressed Double-Tee repair project. Methods of evaluation and analysis, as guided by ACI 562, will be presented with a discussion of how these provisions can lead to various repair approaches.

Chuck Larosche, P.E., Principal, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.

Carl J. “Chuck” Larosche, P.E., has over 25 years of experience in consulting services for the preservation and restoration of existing structures, structural design, and investigation and evaluation of existing structures and materials. He has successfully combined his broad construction background with his knowledge of material behavior in existing structures to provide insight and knowledge in the area of concrete and steel evaluation, including strengthening and repair of these materials. Upon receiving his Masters of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Larosche founded his own firm, Sparks, Larosche & Associates. Today, he is a Principal at WJE where he oversees the structural engineering group in the Austin office. He is the Sub-committee Chair of ACI 562 Evaluation, Repair & Rehabilitation and a voting member of ACI 349 Concrete Nuclear Structures. Mr. Larosche is a Licensed Professional Engineer in nine states, including Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Florida, Idaho and Arizona. Mr. Larosche has developed a national practice for Wiss, Janney Elstner in concrete repair, rehabilitation and restoration.
