Session Overview:
Peter Tarara and Chris White will be presenting on various concrete repair methods and the use of repair materials. The presentation will cover technical considerations, repair techniques, concrete repair basics and the selection and use of repair materials. The presenters experience working on numerous concrete repair projects of varying vintages with unique features and challenges will be highlighted during the presentation.

Peter Tarara, PE, SE is an Associate Principal with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., in Chicago, Illinois. His work focuses on assessment and repair of reinforced concrete, precast concrete and architecturally significant concrete structures including various repair techniques and use of repair materials. He is active in ACI, PCI, and currently serves as Chair of ACI 546 – Concrete Repair and is the former Subcommittee Chair of ACI 546-0C, Concrete Repair Guide and former Secretary of ACI Subcommittee ACI-546-OD, Packaged Materials. He is also a member of ACI’s and PCI’s Parking Structures committees.
Chris White is the Director and General Manager of CTS Tomes, a division of CTS Cement Manufacturing Corporation. His work focuses on the design, manufacturing, sale, and use of packaged concrete repair materials as well as the manufacturing of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete for architectural terra cotta replacement. He is involved in ICRI Chicago as the Immediate Past President and is the Secretary of ACI Committee 546 – Repair of Concrete, where he has contributed to ACI’s Guide for Job Site Quality Control and Quality Assurance of Cementitious Packaged Materials and ACI’s Guide to Concrete Repair.
