Overview:
Eric and Dan, with numerous years of experience with Traffic Bearing Waterproof Membranes between them, will discuss how to best select the right membrane technology for concrete protection. From workhorse single component urethanes to quick curing methacrylate technology, these two industry experts will provide guidance on how to evaluate the advantages and limitations of each technology to make the right decisions when choosing a Traffic Bearing Waterproof membrane. They will also share best practices for assessing specific project details such as environmental exposure, traffic conditions, available downtime, and owner requirements in selecting the proper system. Dan and Eric will also share important installation techniques which can influence the performance of these materials. Case studies will be used to illustrate how this selection process results in a long-lasting solution for these projects. The presenters will be available to answer any questions pertaining to the selection and application of these materials.

Eric has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and and MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has over 33 years of experience in the construction chemicals field – holding positions in sales, business management, product engineering, marketing and product management. He has worked the last 22 years with Sika and is currently responsible for Sika’s full line of sealants, traffic coatings and liquid applied below grade waterproofing products in the US market. He is currently the Committee chair for ICRI - 710 Coatings and Waterproofing and is part of several committees at the Sealant Waterproofing and Restoration Institute.
Dan has been in the concrete repair industry for over 33 years: 15 years as a contractor and currently part of the Master Builders Solutions Team and Watson Bowman Acme, (formerly BASF) where he has been for the past 18 years in multiple roles. Dan specializes in the Parking and Stadium Sector and has become a National resource for both deck coatings and expansion joints. Dan has been a member of ICRI for 18 years and a past chapter president. Currently he is on the BOD as a regional rep and is a frequent contributor at national conventions. Dan also co-chairs committee 710.
