Description

A significant percentage of repairs are performed during the course of constructing new structures. Once a construction anomaly or error occurs the first concerns are for life safety and schedule impact. A review of the steps necessary to successfully perform repairs and minimize impacts to the ongoing construction. Examples of challenging problems and the traditional and non-traditional solutions to these problems will be discussed.

Pete Barlow is the Vice President, America’s with Contech Services, Inc. of Seattle, Washington a wholly owned subsidiary of BMGroup LTD an international construction firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Contech Services, Inc. is a specialty contractor that performs concrete strengthening, repair and waterproofing. Pete has been in the concrete repair industry since 1975 and has been a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington since 1976, the American Concrete Institute since 1978 and International Concrete Repair Institute since 1987. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (FACI), active both on a local and national level, he is the current chairman of ACI Committee’s 546-Repair.
